March Madness!!

Ok, I know, I know, I have left many of you hanging since February. However, I have not been sleeping or hiding away. I have been very active in the community promoting my platform and getting all the many things ready for Miss Virginia.

Instead of going on a trip with the girls for spring break, I chose to return home to Virginia and take part in many, many appearance opportunities. This is by far my favorite part about being Miss Chesterfield. I love to serve others and I love to be out in the community.

First stop was the Saint Jude's Fashion Show held in Harrisonburg, VA. I modeled a few dresses and spoke for a brief moment to the audience about my platform. What made the appearance even better (besides raising a ton of money for Saint Jude) was the fact that I finally got to meet Miss Virginia Caitlin Uze! And... on top of that I was able to catch up with an old friend from back in the "teen days" Brittany Young, who is the current Miss Greater Richmond. And... I was able to make a new friend by meeting Delesia Watson who is the current Miss Alexandria. What a wonderful experience to share with some wonderful friends!!

Next stop during my spring break involved speaking at 6 different school assemblies sharing my platform of "Every Beat Counts" being heart healthy. Thanks so much to AM. Davis Elementary, Robious Middle School and Providence Middle School for allowing me to come and speak to everyone. 6 presentations in two days was a lot, but i absolutely loved every minute of it!

It was also great to have dinner with my Chesterfield family and do many. many other activities during the week to help prepare me for Miss Virginia. I am so thankful and blessed for all that I have been given and I will always use it to glorify God.

Love and Blessings
Amanda
